I’m Claudia, born in ’86 (you do the math!) in sunny Napoli (Italy), I’ve been living in Strasbourg (France) since 2010.
I’m a Biologist, with advanced degrees in molecular biology and neuroscience; I’m a Life Science/Pharma Industry expert of almost 9 years, including massive experience setting up and facilitating projects in drug development, preclinical essays and clinical trials set-up.
I’m currently finishing a MBA degree as well as a module on Chemical Formulations.
I’ve been a proper ‘Skincare Freak’ for a very long time, probably for over a decade, and particularly ever since I moved to cold and often gloomy Strasbourg.
My skin type goes from normal/balanced to dry to extremely dry, depending on the time of year, the weather and my stress levels.
I am prone to rosacea and eczema (particularly ‘atopic dermatitis’), and if the skin on my face can feel tight and dry, the skin on my body can literally feel scaly and itchy; what derms call ‘atopic’ skin – not funny!
I’ve also battled with perioral dermatitis and seborrheic dermatitis in the past.
This is to say: I’ll make sure to share my tips and tricks on how I tackle relapses in these (medically assessed) skin conditions on the blog, so make sure to follow along!
This website is my ode to skincare, my declaration of love to the beauty industry, and the lovechild between myself and my passion for skincare.
I set out to build a blog and a social media space for all to follow on my skincare journey, to share my personal recommendations, and to find tips and tricks which will hopefully be universally useful, whatever your skin type and needs.
On Divergent Beauty’s platforms you’ll find product reviews, ride-or-die tips, ‘Holy grails’ and ‘Unsung heroes’ product recommendations, and the all the physical and web-based spaces where you’ll find the best bargains to buy your favourite products from, wherever you live in the World!
You’ll also find quite a bit of Scientific content, jazzed up with just enough crazy to make it more palatable!
What you won’t find, is pseudoscience and purely marketing ‘clean’ or ‘chemical free’ bs!
